Our first Waffle Sunday with the USO and the Chaplin’s Office
partnering to serve the religious community on Sigonella was a huge
success. The USO Crew baked over 300
waffles to serve to three congregations on Sunday. Catholic Mass is always first at 9:00 AM in
the Base Chapel then the Protestant congregation begins at 11:00 AM and The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints begins at 1:30 PM. There were two serving times for all
congregations to meet and greet 10:30-11:30 AM and 12:00-1:00PM. All four of our missionaries managed to make time to join us. Who doesn’t like waffles with all the
trimmings, including chocolate chips, marshmallows, strawberry, boysenberry,
blueberry and maple syrup?
